Opening or Moving
Setting up a new office, location or practice and needing business phone service ready for day one — often with nobody on the team who has ordered it before.
Forward Konnect helps businesses set up, upgrade and manage business phone lines — from new numbers and number porting to VoIP and traditional phone systems. As a local authorized AT&T dealer, we compare the options available at your address, manage the installation and help ensure your existing business number stays connected.
No obligation. Local guidance. Response within one business day.

For most businesses, the phone number is the valuable asset — not the physical line behind it. Your number is on your vehicles, website, signage, customer contacts and Google Business Profile. Losing it would cost far more than any line ever will.
The technology carrying that number can change. You can move from traditional phone lines to VoIP without necessarily changing the number customers already know, and United States carriers are required to release a number to a new provider when the account holder submits a valid port request. Once you know the number is portable, the rest becomes a set of practical choices about how calls should be delivered and answered.
Forward Konnect helps you determine what can be changed, what should stay and how to make the transition without disrupting your business communications.
Your number is the asset. The line behind it can change without your customers noticing.
The businesses that reach out to Forward Konnect about phone service usually fit one of these situations:
Setting up a new office, location or practice and needing business phone service ready for day one — often with nobody on the team who has ordered it before.
Experiencing busy signals, missed calls or overloaded lines during peak periods — a sign the line count no longer matches the call volume.
Still paying for older phone lines or features that no longer fit how the business operates, on a bill that has crept up quietly for years.
Managing phone, internet and wireless through multiple providers and looking for a simpler setup. Our business telecom services bring those needs together under one point of contact.
Whatever the trigger, the first step is the same: find out what your address and your numbers can support.
Most projects involve both. You may need new direct lines for employees while keeping your main business number, or you may want to move existing numbers to a new phone system. Getting the mix right up front matters, because new lines and ported numbers run on different tracks: a new line can usually be provisioned on its own schedule, while a port has to be coordinated so the old service stays live until the moment the number cuts over.
Two things matter most:
Forward Konnect manages the number-porting process and coordinates the transition so your existing business numbers remain active through the change.
The right number of lines depends on simultaneous calls, not employee headcount.
We look at:
With VoIP, capacity can often be adjusted more easily as your business grows — our business VoIP page covers what that flexibility looks like day to day. We help make sure your phone system continues to match the way your team actually works, including identifying the lines that serve equipment such as alarm panels, elevators or payment devices, because those are the lines that should not be casually migrated.
Count simultaneous calls, not desks — that is what sets the right number of lines.
Forward Konnect is a business telecom consultancy and authorized AT&T dealer. We check the options available at your address, explain the differences clearly, manage ordering and number porting, and coordinate installation.
You have one local point of contact instead of navigating multiple provider departments — someone who knows your account before the install and, more importantly, after it.
And if your current phone system is already working well, we will tell you that too. Our telecom cost audit often identifies services that should be removed rather than replaced, and phone lines are one of the places where that happens most.
One local contact who knows your account before the install — and after it.
To make your business phone assessment faster, gather:
You do not need everything to get started. Missing details are normal, and identifying them is part of the review.
Submit the audit form and our team will review your current setup and identify what is worth changing — and what is not.
You will hear from us within one business day. No obligation, no pressure and no recommendation to upgrade simply for the sake of upgrading. If you would rather talk it through first, call (888) 604-9688. And if phones are one piece of a wider look at what your company spends on connectivity, our business wireless plans page covers the mobile side of the same conversation.
One review, one business day, and a recommendation you can act on — or ignore.
Share what you can — even a rough picture is enough to start. We review your lines, locations and spend, then show you exactly what we would change.
Yes, in nearly all cases. US carriers must release a number when a valid port request comes from the new provider, so the number belongs to your business in practice. The key is sequencing: keep the old service active until the port completes, and make sure the business name and account details on the request match the old account exactly.
It varies with the type of service and how many numbers move, so we will not quote a universal figure. Simple ports tend to move faster than complex multi-line ones, and errors in account details are the most common cause of delay. We prepare the paperwork, track the port date, and schedule the cutover for a time that will not disrupt your callers.
Sometimes. Some alarm panels, elevators, and older fax or payment devices expect an analog line and behave unpredictably on anything else, while many newer devices have cellular or internet-based alternatives. We inventory what is actually plugged into your lines before recommending changes, so nothing critical gets migrated by accident.
For everyday business calling, VoIP-delivered lines are usually the better fit because calls can follow your team to desks, laptops, and mobile phones, and features like auto-attendants come with the service. Traditional lines remain the right call for specific equipment. Most of the businesses we work with end up with a mix, and we help decide which is which.
Nothing out of pocket. The line review and recommendation are free, and as an authorized AT&T dealer we are compensated through the dealer program rather than by marking up your service. If the best answer is keeping your current setup or simply dropping unused lines, that is the recommendation you will get.
